Dr. Bansi Dhar Ji was closely associated with Shriram Institute for Industrial Research as Vice-Chairman for over three decades. Under his able guidance and dynamic leadership, Shriram Institute achieved great heights. During this period the Institute flourished and rapidly carved a niche as an important and recognised national Institute.
At the national level, Dr. Bansi Dhar Ji contributed a great deal in various areas for the growth of the country viz. Industry, Education, Industrial Research etc. He was the president of FICCI, PHD Chambers of Commerce, Indian Sugar Manufacturers’ Association, Indian Chemical Manufacturers’ Association and Indian Badminton Association. He was a member of Governing Council and Treasurer of Shriram College of Commerce, Member of India International Centre, Chairman of I. P. College, Ramjas Foundation, Indian Association of Deaf and Dumb and many other social and educational organisations. His simplicity and intense compassion was visible in his effort to help all. He was warm hearted, caring and always ready to lend his wise counsel and render help to those who approached him. He was a person with rare compassion specially for scientists whom he always placed above all others.
His ability and administrative experience was so great that it was always possible to convert ideas into reality and to resolve very difficult issues in a simple and amicable manner. Many of the industry’s successful managers of the present time have in fact taken their training under Dr. Bansi Dhar Ji at the start of their career.
