Shriram Institute for Industrial Research-Delhi
Shriram Institute for Industrial Research (SRI), Delhi was founded in 1947 and launched operations in 1950 by Sir Shri Ram a leading industrialist, philanthropist and institution builder with a vision to undertake scientific research and supporting technical activities that will benefit Indian industry during those founding years of modern India.
It has grown to the present stature as one of the leading scientific institution of India under subsequent leadership and nurturing of many eminent personalities like Dr. Bansi Dhar, Prof. MGK Menon, Dr. Manju Sharma and many others. In recent years, the Institute has continued to focus on applied research that serves the needs of modern industries.
Under the present leadership of Chairman Board of Governors Professor Akhilesh Tyagi and Vice Chairman Board of Governors, Shri Madhav B. Shriram, and Director Dr. Mukul Das, the Institute has embraced a future-focused approach, incorporating green technologies, sustainability, and entrepreneurship into its core mission.
Industry-Academia Collaboration
SRI has worked closely with universities, other research organizations, and industry leaders to foster collaborative research, on technologies and solutions for the industrial issues.
Incubation Centers and Startups
The establishment of incubation centers has allowed SRI to nurture entrepreneurs in fields like biotech, clean tech, nanotech, and pharmaceuticals. The Institute’s innovation and startup ecosystem has helped many young entrepreneurs develop and commercialize cutting-edge technologies.
